Christmas Videos

Nate recieved a special email video from Santa.

This video is 4 min, 24 secs.

Nate entertained us for most of the weekend with his wild immagination and stories. Here he is playing with some of his new toys.

This video is 4 min, 42 sec.

Alice was so fascinated with Nate. There was a lot of 'Monkey See, Monkey Do' this past weekend. And I put a LOT of emphasis on the MONKEY part.

This video is 10 minutes.

Merry Christmas

John, Alice, and I went to DC for Christmas this year. My whole family was there and it was wonderful to be together. We all got great presents from Santa and had a lot of fun watching Alice and my nephew, Nate, play together. Alice was so fascinated with Nate and so there was a lot of monkey see, monkey do. The only concern I had with the weekend was how long it would take Alice to warm up to these strangers. Turns out, I had nothing to worry about. We arrived around 10:30am on Christmas Eve and by 2pm, she was friends with everyone.

We hope you had a wonderful Christmas. Enjoy these photos. We also have a couple videos which will be posted soon.

Playhouse Videos

In the first video, you can tell that she is just checking it out. Based on the screeching in the second video...we think she likes it!

Christmas Program & First Christmas Gift

This posting will be full of pictures. Hope you enjoy!

Last Friday was the Christmas Program at Alice's school (and was also pajama day for her class). The kids had bells on pipe cleaners that they jingled for "Jingle Bells". Then they pointed to their noses for "Rudpolph the Red Nosed Reindeer". After the songs, the kids 'made' the parents a snack. This basically consisted of them shaking ziploc bags full of thier trail mix (fruit loops, cheerios, etc). After the snack, the parents were given presents that the kids made - a big globe ornament that was finger painted. It was really fun and so neat to see the kids interacting and having such a good time.

Alice's Reindeer made with her foot and hands.

As I mentioned in the last post, Alice's first Christmas gift arrived last night. I am obviously just as excited as she is about Christmas (well, I am more excited because I know what it is all about but...ya know). John and I put the house together last night and were so excited for her to see it this morning. I got a bunch of cute pictures and got a couple minutes of video (will post shortly).

Alice LOVES her playhouse so much that we had a hard time getting her out of the house to go to school.

Alice's Palace, for real!

A Christmas present arrived a little early for Alice. Since Alice doesn't really know what day is Christmas, I decided to set it up early. Despite almost getting stuck inside while putting it together, it is really great. I cannot wait to see her reaction to it tomorrow morning. I will be sure to post more pictures as soon as I can.
Thank you Gramma ChaCha and Grampa Marshmallow, er, I mean, SANTA!

Rough Morning

Some mornings, Alice is cheerful and ready to play...

But, some mornings Alice is simply not a happy camper. Last Saturday she spent most of the morning perfecting her new FAKE cry. She has been hearing the word 'NO' a lot more lately so she is prepared to let it loose as often as possible.

I am going to beat my brothers to the punch....I am pretty sure they will look at these pictures and make the comment that Alice looks SOOO much more like me... I think I made these grimacing faces through most of my teen years.

Hope YOU have a good weekend!!!

Mini Mommy & Daddy

I have been wanting to do this for a while but have not gotten around to it. People are always commenting on how much Alice looks like us. In truth, she is a perfect mixture of both of us. She has John's eyes, nose, ears and has my mouth and chin. (hard to tell from the picture of me but it is the only one I could find.) I guess the face I am making in my picture will explain that she has most of my personality. :)
