Hope you are having a good week. I am finally coming out of my month long sick funk. John has had a few promising interviews and we are crossing our fingers that the local one comes through with an offer soon. Thank you for all your warm thoughts and prayers.

Pictures and update
Lots of big news....Alice rolled over from her tummy to her back this past weekend. So exciting for Mommy and Daddy but I think that it might have been a fluke because she has not done it again since. Also news worthy, we have moved to rice cereal and fruit for breakfast and dinner. She is starting to get the hang of the spoon thing after about a week of messes. She is still pretty messy but it is getting better. Most of the time is spent holding her hands down while shoveling the food in her mouth. As you can see from the picture, she LOVES sucking on her fingers. She is not partial to any specific fingers...sometimes she has all 4 in her mouth. Alice is babbling a blue streak and for some reason seems to talk the most when we are changing her or we have her propped up on the couch. She doesn't really "talk" when we are holding her. Guess she thinks that is as good as it gets so there is no need to tell us what else we have to do. :) Also, as it turns out, her tear duct WAS infected. She is on antibiotics and her eye has completely cleared up.

Baby it's cold outside
This picture was taken this morning before Alice and I left the house to go to daycare. It has been really cold down here so we have been getting all bundled up. Love the hat!
Went to the doctor yesterday to have them look at Alice's blocked tear duct again because it is not clearing up. Doc says there is not much that can be done...says it will clear up in a few months. It is not the end of the world but it can get pretty gross and I am sure it interferes with her sight at times. But as usual, she doesn't seem fazed. Her cold is starting to go away, thank goodness. The doctor told us that if it is not gone within a week to bring her back in because at that point, it is probably caused by an ear infection so she will actually have to take some meds. I hope it doesn't get to that point.
While at the doctor's office we got a weight check. Our little girl (or should I say big girl) is 15 pounds, 13 ounces! WOW! Alice has officially moved into 6 month clothes too!

Bath Time!
This week has been a stressful one. Between John being laid off and our colds - we are really burnt out. We are trying to stay optimistic on the job front but it is so hard. Thank goodness we have such a cheerful little girl. It is hard to stay sad when I am with her. John has a few phone interviews scheduled for this week and there are about half a dozen opportunities that look promising. Two of the opportunities would allow us to stay in our house. The others would mean a move which I am not thrilled about...but, it would most likely be to the Northeast so that does make me happy. But it figures, that all this would happen now that I have a great, secure job. Does anyone ever get everything they need at the same time???
Thank you for your thoughts and prayers for us. Please, please keep them coming. :)

Happy New Year!
I've said it before but it bears repeating...nothing brightens my day like getting a big grin from my girl. I am sure the Grandparents would agree!
Hope you all have a happy and healthy 2009!
