Alice has had a wicked case of the hiccups lately. I have read that it is really very normal and it is a sign that the baby is practicing breathing. For me, it feels pretty cool...a little rhythmic spasm. I can't help but giggle a little when it starts. John insists that he needs to scare her in order to get them to start but it only takes me moving a bit for them to pass.
Speaking of, I would love to have enough wine to give myself the hiccups. Of course, I am not completely serious but..... At my weekly OB appointment last week, I told the doctor that Alice had really slowed down with her movements. Without wasting a second, he strapped me up to a fetal heart monitor. Within about 10 minutes, it seems as though Alice was trying to say to me, "Aw Mom, what did you do that for? You want movement? I'll show you". And so for the last week and a half, she has been a little busy body. John jokes that she is trying to escape but I have to wonder sometimes.
I have been feeling really good up until this last week. My lower back is starting to ache and my fingers and toes are starting to swell and get really sore. Today, I think she was playing soccer with my stomach, I was so nauseated. The strange thing is that most of my uncomfortable symptoms change so quickly....it all depends on where she is sitting at the moment.
I can't believe I only have about 6 weeks left. The time has flown by. I am so excited but the nerves are starting to set in too. John keeps asking me if I think I am going to have to have a c-section....Good God John....1. I have no idea and 2. Stop making me think about that!!!
I hope you are all doing well. I know that we have been slacking on our blog postings but there really has not been much to report. I hope to have some really good news by the end of the week so I will share that when it happens.
Talk to you soon!!!!

Baby in my tummy
Nate, my 3 1/2 year old nephew, sent me a picture he drew of me with my baby in my tummy. Pretty good, I think.
John and I have been really, really bad about posting. Sorry - no excuses except to say that nothing really has been going on - very status quo. Alice is getting more and more active when I am relaxing. She is starting to really get moving as soon as I go to bed, so I am not as much sleep as I would like. What a sacrifice, lololol.
According to the doctor, she is about 4 pounds right now. Everything that I have read says that babies usually gain about 1/2 a pound a week in the last 2 months so we are on target for an 8 pounder. Hope she is not any bigger than that because the thought to a c-section scares the heck out of me. I do have those "good birthing hips" but ...

4-D Ultrasound Pictures - WOW
We had our 4-D ultrasound today. Absolutely amazing!! Posted below are a few of the best pictures. We also got a DVD but neither John nor I can figure out how to edit it to get it ready to post. It is about 30 minutes and not at all interesting for most of you. If anyone knows how to edit VOB files, please let us know.
Enjoy the pictures of our beautiful girl!!
